St. John’s native Teddy Purcell’s hockey career has taken a new turn. Pursell who was released by the Boston Bruins is headed to Russia and the KHL. He has signed a one year 1.9 million dollar contract with Avanhard Omsk. Pursell has played in 110 NHL games and has collected 327 points.
The Gander Flyers have completed a trade with the Clarenville Caribous in the Central West Senior Hockey League. The Flyers have sent Gander native defenseman Mike Dyke to the Caribous for another defenseman Lucas McKay.
