Brad Gushue and his Newfoundland rink claimed the Nationals Curling championship Sunday as they beat Reid Carruthers 7-2 in the championship game.
It was his 53rd win of the season for Gushue and his rink of Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker. Its also his 4th national title.

Brad Gushue and his rink have advanced to the semi-finals of the National Curling event in Oshawa Ontario. Gushue scored four in the seventh end to defeat Thomas Ulsrud 9-4 and move to the semis.
F R I D A Y
The Brad Gushue rink improved to 3-1 as they defeated Thomas Ulsrud of Norway 4-1 on Friday. Gushue had single counts in the first and fourth end and added two in the sixth to get the win. Brad Gushue will take on Norway’s Thomas Ulsrud in a rematch of their final round-robin game earlier Friday where the 2006 Olympic gold medallist from St. John’s came out on top to qualify.
