ICE CAPS LOSE FINAL EX GAME

Admirals win again

The Norfolk Admirals scored three straight power play goals to defeat the St. John’s IceCaps 5-2 Sunday in AHL exhibition play.

Jeff Dimmen, Alexandre Picard and Carter Ashton scored while the Admirals held the man advantage, and Tyler Johnson rounded out the scoring with an empty net.
Norfolk got on the board first with a goal from Michel Ouellet just 1:08 into the game.

St. John’s tied it at 4:48 on a goal by Riley Armstrong, and went ahead in the second period when Jason Jaffray – wearing the captain’s C in the contest – potted one at 14:49.
After that it was all Norfolk, as a string of IceCaps penalties let the Admirals take control of the game.

The game concludes the IceCaps exhibition schedule. The team will continue training camp as it prepares for its first game, Friday, October 7 in Providence against the Bruins.
The team’s first home game is Friday, October 14 against the Hamilton Bulldogs
