Cats unbeaten as well
The Cataracts get a goal from Mike Brent with 4.3 seconds remaining in the game after Justin Bonnerville tied the contest for Corner Brook and the Cataracts edge Corner Brook 4-3 Sunday in the west coast city.
Before the third Scott Doody scored for the Royals with a goal shorthanded and Justin Barbour made it 2-1 with an even strength goal. Matt Quinn replied for the Cataracts also on a shorthanded situation and Cody Roache tied the game in the second period. Wes Welcher scored in the third to give the Cataracts the lead.
The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts remain undefeated in provincial senior hockey play following a 4-0 win over the Corner Brook Royals Saturday night at Corner Brook.
Tyler Whitehead scored two goals for the Cats with singles form Mitch Oke and Brandon Nicholas. The Catarcts are 3-0 on the season. The Royals it was their season debut.
The Mount Pearl Blades had a 4-1 lead at one point and watched that slip away as Clarenville Caribous scored three third period goals and then won the game 5-4 in a shootout to hand the Blades their fourth straight loss.
Steve Yetman and Ryan Derosiers had two goals each for the Caribous with yetman getting the game winning goal in the shootout. Chris Huilt had a single. Mark leDrew, Ryan penney, Jason hedges and Andrew Pearcey connected for the Blades.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first and Mount Pearl had a 3-1 lead after 40.
The Clarenville Caribous ruined the season home opener for the Mount Pearl Blades in provincial senior hockey at the Glacier on Friday night. They also hand the Blades their third straight loss of the season while the Bous remain undefeated. The Caribous win 6-2 .
Dale Sullivan , Ryan Derosiers and Chris Hulit scored two goals each for the visitors in this game.
