CELTICS EDGE CLOSER TO SECOND

Celtics winners over CBR

The Junior Celtics won their eighth game of the season and edged closer to second place in the Kent St. John's Junior Hockey League standings with a 5-3 victory over Assante Wealth Management CRB Renegades Sunday.

Fivce players shared in the scoring, Chris Blackwood, Tyler parsons, Shane McGrath, Hugh Mews and Stephen Morrissey.

Shaner Kelly tallied twice for CBR with the single from Jeff Mackey.

CBN Slatework Junior Stars  scored three goals in the first and second period and came up with a 7-4 win over I J Smith and Sons Trinity Placentia Flyers on Sunday.

Cody Noseworthy with the hat trick for the winners and James Lanning added two with the singles from Tyler Adams and Mike Vaters.

Jeremy Nicholas, Darrin Wilkins, Curtis March and Ryan Whittle replied for the Trinity Placentia team.

Darren Wilkins fired home four goals and setup one for a five point night as I J Smith and Sons Trinity Placentia Flyers erupted for seven first period goals enroute to a 13-5 win over Assante Wealth Management CBR Junior Renegades at the Robert french Stadium in Kelligrews in Kent St. John's Junior Hockey action.

Daniel Guy and Jeremy Nicholas scored two goals each with singles added from Scott McCarthy, Ryan Whittle, Brett Kennedy, Paul Hutchings and Alex Gill.

Alex Tulk and Andrew Mackey netted two goals each for the Renegades and Paul Perham added a single.

C and W offShore Southern Shore breaklers edged Slateworks CBN Junior Stars 3-2 in Kent St. John's Junior Hockey League play Friday night at the Bay Arena.

 

Brandon Baird and Stefan Jones scored in the third period while Mitch Martin connected in the first.

Mike Vaters scored for the CBN Stars in the first and Andrew Smith tied the game in the third.
