In Mount Pearl the Corner Brook Royals edge Mount Pearl 5-4. Jake Easton, Mark Robinson, Steve McKannett, Andrew White and Todd Ballah have the Royals goals and Andrew Pearcey has two goals and Terry Ryan and Chris Mooney had singles for the Blades.
Royals take both weekend games winning in a shootout Saturday.
The Clarenville Caribous win 3-2. Andrew Hill and Chris Hulit have scored for Clarenville and Matt Quinn for the Cataracts.
SATURDAY
The top two teams in provincial senior hockey are meeting at the Joe Byne Memorial Arena.
Clarenville Caribous edge the Cataracts 4-3. Dale Sullivan has two goals with Matthew Bragg, and Dustrin Russell adding singles. Matt Quinn, Brandon Nicholas and Wes Welcher have the goals for the Cats. The win gives the Caribous 25 points which is a five point lead over the Cataracts in the race for first place.

IN shootout so far Hedges Thorne Mooney Pearcey and Coranccia fail to score for Blades, White North Bonville and Doody have failed for Royals. However Mark Robinson scores the only goal for a 5-4 Royals win .
