The St. John’s IceCaps ended their home stand with a 4-0 loss to the Toronto Marlies on Saturday afternoon.

The game was back-and-forth in the first period until the Marlies’ Dmytro Timoshov broke the scoreless tie with 1:16 left in the first frame. Toronto would go on to score again in the second to maintain the lead.

The third period began with a quick tally from Andreas Johnsson to stretch the Marlies lead to three, and they would add another – Timoshov’s second of the night for the shutout victory.

IceCaps netminder Yann Danis was busy in net, and albeit the loss made 44 saves for the home team.

The IceCaps have lost five of their last six games and all were on home ice.
