The Rochester Americans made it a sweep of their weekend series with the St. John’s Ice Caps winning 3-2 Saturday night in overtime at Mile One.

Jason Akeson scored the winning goal 1:12 into the extra session for the win.

Gabriel Dumont and Stefan Fournier connected for the home town team in this game.

Eddie Pasquale faces 34 shots in this game and made 31 saves.

The Ice Caps host Albany for their next two games Tuesday and Wednesday at Mile One.

The St. John’s IceCaps saw their impressive home streak come to an end Friday night in a 3-1 loss to the Rochester Americans at Mile One Centre.

Rochester’s Jerry D’Amigo scored a goal with 1:02 left in regulation time and Colby Robak scored the insurance marker into an empty net to break the Ice Caps’ 10-game home point streak  their first home loss of the season in regulation time.

Jacob de la Rose had the lone goal for St. John’s, his first of the season after missing the previous 11 games due to injury.

The Ice Caps and Americans face off again Saturday night in the second of two at Mile One.
